BLUEZ BOYZ Concert to BENEFIT MAny MAnsions

Thousand Oaks, CA (February 1, 2006) A little Big Bad Voodoo Daddy mixed with the sounds of Duke Ellington and James Brown is what you’ll hear as young jazz sensations, the Bluez Boyz, show off their musical genius for charity.  The Bluez Boyz will host a concert featuring vocalist Chris Johnson to benefit Many Mansions at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Scherr Forum on March 5, 2006 at 4:00PM.

If you haven’t experienced the sweet soulful sound of the Bluez Boyz, be prepared to be moved out of your seats! It’s hard to believe these seasoned musicians are only teenagers, ages 14-18, when you hear their smooth jazz melodies flowing through your eardrums.  Looks can be deceiving, and clearly these Boyz know how to Rock!

Based out of the Conejo Valley, this band of high school students began their start as talent show winners.  Since their humble beginnings, they have performed for thousands of music fans at events such as Concerts in the Park, The Levitt Pavilion, Theater on High Street and Oktoberfest, while also playing benefit concerts supporting Many Mansions, Multiple Sclerosis Society, National Kidney Foundation and the American Red Cross Katrina Relief.

Last year’s Bluez Boyz sold out concert raised $10,000 in efforts to aid Many Mansions’ Children Services Department, and the young prodigies have once again lent their talents to help support organization’s mission.  The proceeds from the concert will benefit Many Mansions’ Children Services Department, which provides a safe haven for disadvantaged youth through its after school Homework Literacy Program, Kids Café, Summer Camp, and Teen Club.

Tickets are $25.00. VIP tickets are available for $50.00 and include front section seating and a pre-concert cocktail and hors’deurves reception at Claim Jumper at The Lakes. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com , bluezboyz@mac.com or Many Mansions at 805-496-4948 x. 36 or vanessa@manymansions.org.
