BLUEZ BOYZ CONCERT RAISES $12K FOR MANY MANSIONS

Thousand Oaks, CA (March 8, 2006) Playing to a sold-out crowd at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza-Scherr Forum on Sunday, March 5th, the Bluez Boyz rocked, raising over $12,000 to aid Many Mansions’ Children Services Department.

While their performance rocked, soothed and mesmerized you all at the same time, you couldn’t help but think, “It don’t mean a thing, if it ain’t got that swing!”  The Bluez Boyz played some of our favorites from the jazz, swing, and funk genres, taking you through a music voyage to the contemporary sounds of today. Special guest vocalist Chris Johnson sang with ease when the Boyz performed Georgia, a Ray Charles original.

During the concert you often wondered if you had journeyed through a time machine where the sounds of Duke Ellington and Dizzy Gillespie ruled the stage. Showcasing some of their own musical genius, the Bluez Boyz delighted the audience to some original music composed and arranged by band member Danny Jonokuchi, which is also featured on their CD.

“The Boyz are inspired to support Many Mansions because it helps children their age and families in need in their own community,” said Jeff Rudin, Bluez Boyz Manager. “The services Many Mansions provide are essential to these families and give them a chance to work towards a better life.”

This is the second consecutive year the Bluez Boyz lent their talents to raise money for the non-profit to help support organization’s mission. Last year’s Bluez Boyz sold-out concert raised $10,000 in efforts to aid Many Mansions.

The proceeds from the concert will benefit Many Mansions Children Services Department, which provides educational services for disadvantaged youth such as its after school Homework Literacy Program, Summer Camp, and Teen Club.
