Many Mansions Announces
Bowls of Hope Project on November 5th
Simple
Meal Used to Promote Affordable Housing Need
Thousand Oaks, CA (October 17, 2006) Hosted by Jean Martirez
of Fox 11 News, Many Mansions’ Bowls of Hope Project is an
event for all ages. This signature event, designed to spread awareness of
the need for affordable housing, will be held on November 5, 2006 at
Calamigos Ranch in Malibu
from 11:00am-2:00pm.
Tickets
purchased at $25 presale or $30 dollars at the door will admit
guests into the Bowls of Hope Project where civic leaders, local
celebrities, amateur and professional artists have created over 500
hundred bowls in support of Many Mansions. Guests will receive a bowl
of their choice and proceed to a “soup line” where sponsors and supporters
will serve a simple meal of gourmet soups and breads that have been donated
by local restaurants.
While
in good company, guests will get a chance to browse the art gallery and bid
on silent auction items in the merchant market. The gallery will
feature art work by local youth attending school between the ages of
Kindergarten and twelfth grade. Live artist Dean Williams will
illustrate a charcoal drawing that will be auctioned off to the highest
bidder at the end of the event. The merchant market will include
silent auction items such as spa packages, interior design items, a
helicopter ride, autographed memorabilia and bowls from some of your favorite
celebrities including players from the Dallas Cowboys, Los
Angeles Laker Girls, actor James Lesure of NBC’s
TV-series Las Vegas, and actor J. August Richards who
has appeared on CSI:Miami and is a former co- star of the TV-series
Angel. There will also be a chance to enter the opportunity drawing to
win a 5-night stay at the Hyatt Regency in Maui
and airfare for two compliments of Great Hawaii Vacations.
Guests
will enjoy live performances from Michael Meros of the
Beach Boys, Country Gone Awry and the Conejo
Community Drum Circle. A special appearance will be made by the Los
Angeles Laker Girls. Proceeds from the Bowls of Hope project will
benefit Many Mansions’ Services Department which provides life-enriching
and supportive services to the adults and children. Services include the
After-school Homework/ Literacy Program, Teen Club, the Holiday Gift
Program, Camp
Many Mansions,
On-site Service Coordination, Case Management, Emergency Food Assistance
and more.
