Many Mansions Receives
$4k from Citibank
for Children Services
Thousand Oaks,
CA - July 30, 2007 - Resource
Development Director Elaine Benditson today announced that
MANY MANSIONS
received a $4000 charitable grant from the Citi Foundation
for its After-School Homework
Literacy Program.
"Anything we can do to help
underserved children and teens in Ventura County
ultimately benefits all of us in the community," said Tony Poretta,
Citibank Area Manager. "We have worked with Many Mansions for many
years and know how valuable their programs are. We are happy to support
this program through this Citi Foundation."
Since 2003, Citibank and the
Citi Foundation has supported Many Mansions' efforts to provide comprehensive
life-enriching services to youth ages 5-18 years old residing in
their apartment communities. The nonprofit's Children
Services Program will use the charitable grant to continue
providing services such as daily homework assistance, school projects,
and one-on-one tutoring through the After-School Homework
Literacy Program.
"Our After-School Homework
Literacy Program is a strong supportive program established for our
children and teen residents and has yielded positive outcomes for each of
our program participants such as better student/teacher relationships,
more parent involvement, and better grades," said Fiona
Kilner, Director of Services. "We are extremely grateful to Citibank
for their continuous support in our efforts to a make a positive impact
in the lives of our resident youth."
The Citi foundation provides
charitable grants and technical expertise to local non-profits with
comprehensive programs whose primary focus is Financial Education,
Educating the Next Generation or Building Communities and Entrepreneurs.
The foundation funds organizations with the goals of helping
businesses prosper and improving the lives of people in our
communities.
